The Indian women’s cricket team has intensified their preparations ahead of the highly anticipated ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. Every training session is being treated as an opportunity to sharpen skills, build fitness, and enhance team coordination.

The BCCI posted a one-minute video showcasing the Indian women’s cricket team’s recent training session, offering fans a glimpse into the intense preparations underway ahead of the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.

The Indian women’s cricket squad started their training session with stretching and running exercises to build stamina and fitness and prepare the body for the upcoming workout. This was followed by a football-style passing warm-up that helped improve coordination and agility.

Then the practice session moved into full-on, intense fielding practice focused on sharp picks, accurate throws, stumping and they also practiced feeding the ball quickly to the wicketkeeper, mirroring the pace and pressure of real games. This focus on fielding comes after India’s shortcomings in this area were evident in their recent home series against Australia, which they lost 1-2.

The mood within the camp appeared vibrant and determined as India gears up for the upcoming ODI World Cup. The tournament opens with a highly anticipated clash against Sri Lanka in Guwahati on September 30.

As two-time runners-up, India is keen to chase down the elusive title this year, with phenomenal Indian star players such as opener Smriti Mandhana, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and All-rounder Deepti Sharma India stands as a strong contender for the title of upcoming World cup.

They are training intensively to dominate the tournament and showcase their talent on the world stage. As co-hosts alongside Sri Lanka, India enjoys favorable conditions and the advantage of playing on home soil.

Before the World Cup, India faced England in a warm-up match, suffering a heavy defeat. The match was played on September 25, Jemimah Rodrigues captained the Indian side against England. The match took place at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, National Cricket Academy in Singahalli, Karnataka.

India will play another warm-up match against New Zealand on September 27, 2025, as part of their final preparations before the World Cup. These matches will provide valuable match practice and tactical insights as India finalizes preparations ahead of the World Cup campaign.
