In a significant development for Pakistan women’s cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member squad, led by the ever-improving Fatima Sana, for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland. The much-anticipated bilateral series is scheduled to take place at Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin from August 6 to 10, 2025.

The biggest talking point from the squad announcement is the inclusion of 22-year-old uncapped batter Eyman Fatima. After an explosive display in the recent National Women’s T20 Tournament, where she tallied 287 runs in eight matches at a strike rate of 155.14, Eyman’s selection signals Pakistan’s intent to infuse young, fearless talent into their lineup. Having represented Pakistan at the inaugural ICC Women’s U19 World Cup in 2023, Eyman now has the opportunity to make her mark at the senior level.
The head coach’s vision for the tour was clear during the recently concluded Women’s Skills Camp, from which the squad was finalised. The entire 15-member unit will undergo further fine-tuning at a pre-series training camp in Karachi before jetting off to Ireland for this pivotal assignment.
Fatima Sana, who continues to grow as a leader and all-rounder, will count on the experience of established names such as Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Sidra Amin, and Muneeba Ali. Pakistan’s bowling, a traditional strength, looks well-rounded with the inclusion of Nashra Sundhu, Sadia Iqbal, and leg-spinner Tuba Hassan.
The series carries extra significance. While Pakistan are determined to reclaim bragging rights lost in 2022, when Ireland scripted a historic 2-1 series win on Pakistani soil, Ireland will be eager to assert their growing reputation once again in home conditions.
Ironically, as far as the T20I format is concerned, the Pakistan women’s team were last involved in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, played in the UAE and hosted by Bangladesh in October 2024.
