Siddhi’s efforts help Novajo clinch victory in the final of Dubai Cricket Council’s women’s cricket league

Siddhi Pagarani grabbed the limelight in the final of the Dubai Cricket Council’s women’s cricket league with an all-round show in leading Navajo clinch a nine-wicket win over Meskwaki at the Jebel Ali Shooting Club Cricket ground. Siddhi helped the side by taking 3 wickets for 24 runs and Kavisha Kumari (2-9) did well to surrender Meskwaki for 110 after Subha Srinivasan (34) and Kushi Sharma (18) gave Meskwaki a brisk start but didn’t get enough support from the other teammates down the order.

After performing well in the bowling department Siddhi and Kavisha struck together to put up 107 runs for the opening stand and as a result, took the match away from Meskwaki. Player of the final Siddhi was striking hard during her 55 from 45 balls which combined nine boundaries alongside Kavisha who scored 35 not out as Navajo won the final in 16 overs.

The tournament was initiated by Dubai Cricket Council with an aim of grooming women’s cricket.

Amin Farooq, the honorary secretary of DCC, witnessed the final and gave away the prizes to the team members. The player of the tournament was awarded to Subha Srinivasan of Meskwaki.
