The Blaze Women registers comfortable win over Durham Women

The Blaze overcame the Durham collapse and secured their very first win after the opening defeat, claiming a 5-wicket victory. Both the teams experienced dramatic collapses and all-rounder performances on Day-2. After losing two crucial wickets, Hollie Armitage anchored Durham’s innings with a commendable knock of 81 runs from 90 balls hitting 9 boundaries. She was supported by Mady Villiers 45 off 75, but the momentum shifted dramatically when The Blaze’s spinners Sarah Glenn (3/45) and Josie Groves (2/12) took control. This triggered the collapse thus restricting Durham to 200.

In reply, The Blaze women were well calculated and steady. The Bryce sisters Kathryn (54 off 57) and Sarah (34 off 37) anchored the 81-run partnership. Through Phoebe Turner’s efforts to dismiss Bryce, The Blaze effectively took the game away from Durham. The standout highlights was Hollie Armitage 81 marking her consecutive fifty and Kathryn Bryce all-rounder performance (54 runs, 2 wickets) was pivotal in both the innings.

Warwickshire Women cruise with a 108-Run Victory over Essex Women

After Essex opted to field first, the bowling wing was capable of taking early wickets spearheaded by Eva Grey’s 5/62. But the momentum shifted when Emily Arlott took control and scored a massive 130 off 141, shooting 21 boundaries. The run score was also restored by Chloe Brewer (44 off 75) and Charis Pavely (31 off 40), thus capitalizing a massive total of 289 runs.

The Essex’s opening batters showcased good intent in chasing the target with notable performances from skipper Grace Scrivens (53 off 76) and Cordelia Griffith (72 off 76). However, Essex struggled to maintain momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals, with Warwickshire’s Katie George (3/38), Chloe Brewer (3/18), and Georgia Davis (2/21) leading the charge. While Essex showed their resilience, it was Emily Arlott who outshined with her commanding century, defining her as one of the standout performers.

Clinical Lancashire Women cruise to victory over Somerset Women

Lancashire Women extended an unbeaten run in the Day-2 with a commanding 7 wicket victory over Somerset Women. However, the lower order batting line-up fought back with Alex Griffiths (46 off 58) and Amanda-Jade Wellington (26 off 20) powering the scorecard to a respectable 205.

However, Lancashire’s top order hunted the run chase efficiently, led by Eve Jones (97 off 111) and Emma Lamb (52 off 68). This constructed a match-winning opening stand to chase down the target. Lancashire’s chase was definitely a dominant opening partnership with an incisive bowling by Kate Cross 2/27, Hannah Jones (2/23) and Emma Lamb (2/30). Lancashire’s Emma stood as an all-rounder performer in both the innings.

Hampshire made early inroads with Freya Davies dismissing Danni Wyatt-Hodge cheaply for just 2, and she returned to claim another crucial breakthrough, removing Alice Capsey. Surrey lost wickets in quick succession, with Linsey Smith (3/28) and Lauren Bell (2/43) providing excellent support to Davies’ spirited opening spell. Capsey (57 off 96) and Alice Monaghan (40 off 42) fought valiantly, but Surrey folded for 209.
