Megan Schutt, a fast bowler from Australia, became the first woman to take 150 Twenty20 International (T20I) wickets on March 26, 2025, at Wellington’s Sky Stadium during the third T20 International match against New Zealand.

Georgia Wareham took the catch at deep midwicket as Schutt achieved her 150th T20I wicket by dismissing New Zealand skipper Suzie Bates in the first over.
Shortly after, she took her 151st wicket, dismissing opener Georgia Plimmer. Her early breakthroughs, along with Georgia Voll’s career-best effort, 75 off 57 balls, helped Australia secure an eight-run victory and a 3-0 series sweep, their first-ever in New Zealand in the format.
The well-known right-arm fast-medium bowler Megan Schutt was born in Adelaide, South Australia, on January 15, 1993. In the 2009–10 season, she made her domestic debut with South Australia Scorpions in the Women’s National Cricket League and went on to make her Australia debut against New Zealand in Sydney in 2012, courtesy of her steady domestic results.
The first female bowler to record two international hat-tricks, Megan Schutt did so in a T20I match against India in 2018 and then again in an ODI match against the West Indies in 2019, solidifying her place in cricket history.
The star pacer was also instrumental in Australia’s 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup glory, taking 13 wickets, including a game-winning four-wicket haul against India in the Final. Notably, she has the most wickets in the T20I format, 151 wickets at an economy rate of 6.40 and an average of 17.70 from 122 innings.
She also holds the record for the most number of consecutive four-wicket hauls in the T20I format and also tops the list in terms of the most wickets in the history of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, with her tally of 48 wickets at an outstanding average of 11.72 and an economy of 5.65 in 29 innings.
