Top 4: Women Cricketers Overlooked in BCCI Annual Contracts 2024-25

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced the central contracts for the Indian national women’s team for the 2024-25 season (October 1st, 2024, to September 30th, 2025), and while the big names have been retained, there also have been a few surprising omissions.

While Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu, Arundathi Reddy, Uma Chetry, and Amanjot Kaur have received central contracts for the first time, Tejal Hasabnis, Harleen Deol, and Priya Mishra are among the promising talents who have not been awarded contracts.

Top 4 players overlooked for central contracts:

Harleen Deol

Deol, the biggest omission, recently had a strong WPL season with the Gujarat Giants, finishing with 232 runs at an average of 38.66. Deol’s been amongst the runs in the ODIs as well, scoring her maiden century against the West Indies during India’s home series in late 2024 and was the third highest scorer during Ireland’s tour of India, earlier in 2025, finishing with 124 runs from three games at an average of 41.33.

Priya Mishra

Young leggie Priya Mishra, who recently broke into the scene, is also a surprising omission. Mishra finished with six wickets in the recently concluded WPL 2025 season, where she represented Gujarat Giants. She made her debut in October 2024 against New Zealand during India’s home series and impressed right off the block, chipping in with crucial wickets whilst being economical. Mishra had a strong series when Ireland toured India earlier this year as well, finishing as the second highest wicket-taker. She first made her name when India A toured Australia in August 2024 with a five-wicket haul (5/14) helping India A win the 3rd ODI by a massive 172 runs.

Pratika Rawal

Another youngster, Pratika Rawal, who has had a storming start to her international career, will also feel hard done after putting up incredible numbers in the two series she has played for India. Rawal has already scored an incredible 444 runs from 6 games at an average of 74 and scored a mammoth 154 against Ireland, where she finished as the top run-getter and won the Player of the Series award. Rawal finished as the third highest scorer in her debut series against the West Indies as well.

Tejal Hasabnis –

Middle-order batter Tejal Hasabnis, who was expected to feature on this list given her recent form in the blue jersey, has missed out. The right-hand batter from Pune, made her debut last October during India’s home series against New Zealand and has been getting runs at No.6. Hasabnis’ maiden half-century came against Ireland as a 53* from her saw her guide India home safely in the opening ODI of their home series. After six games, Hasabnis has 140 runs at a healthy average of 46.66.
