The Cricket Association of Nepal has announced the annual contract list for its national cricket teams, across both men’s and women’s squads. For the women’s national team, the contracts are divided into four grades – A, B, C and D with varying remuneration, providing a significant boost to the players’ financial support and recognition. The contract list will be reviewed and re-evaluated after the first six months, allowing for adjustments and re-assessments based on performance.

Grade A, the top tier comprises four seasoned cricketers, earning a remuneration of Rupees 50,000. The quartet includes Nepal’s captain, Indu Barma, a versatile all-rounder with over 800 runs and 30 wickets in T20Is. She is joined by Puja Mahato, a promising young middle-order batter with 382 T20I runs and 24 wickets, Rubina Chhetri, Nepal’s former captain, with a proven track record of match-winning performances and Sita Rana Magar, a skilled all-rounder known for her batting and bowling exploits.
Grade B, which carries a remuneration of Rupees 35,000 features a single talented cricketer, Kabita Joshi. A 28-year-old all-rounder, she has made significant contributions to the team, scoring 239 runs and claiming 18 wickets in T20Is.
Two promising cricketers, Kabita Kuwar and Samjhana Khadka, have been slotted into Grade C, which carries a remuneration of Rupees 25,000. Kabita, a 21-year-old all-rounder has made her mark with over 200 runs and 40 wickets in T20Is while Khadka, the 25-year-old opening batter has scored an impressive 235 runs in 24 T20I innings.
Rounding out the contract list are twelve cricketers in Grade D, who will each receive a remuneration of Rupees 20,000. This group includes a mix of experienced players and young talent, such as Bindu Rawal, Alisha Yadav, Sana Praveen and Riya Sharma among others. Also featured are several players who have represented Nepal’s U-19 team, including Seemana KC, Sabitri Dhami, Krishma Gurung and Jotsnika Marasaini showcasing the association’s commitment to nurturing young talent.
Meanwhile, the Nepal women’s team is currently competing in the Women’s T20 Quadrangular Series in Uganda alongside Namibia, Uganda and Hong Kong. After four matches, the team finds itself at the bottom of the table with just one win, facing a challenging road ahead in the tournament.
