Delhi, who won the toss, elected to bat first, which proved to be a befitting decision as they posted a total of 110 runs with a loss of 8 wickets. The Delhi openers, Deeksha and Pragya Rawat stitched a strong partnership of 49 runs off 56 balls. Deeksha’s daunting half century, with 7 fours and Pragya’s resilient knock of 29 runs formed the backbone of Delhi’s innings. Delhi’s middle order failed to capitalize on the start with several batters dismissed on single digit scores.

Mumbai’s Mahi Thakkar picked up two wickets, including that of Deeksha, while Zeal Dmello, Nirmiti Rane, and Ira Jadhav picked up one each. The last over of Delhi’s innings, witnessed two run outs (Ekta and Riya), courtesy to Ashwini Nishad.

Mumbai’s chase faltered right from the beginning as they lost early wickets under pressure. The batters struggled to find their rhythm and Delhi bowlers grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Only three batters managed to reach double digit scores with Simran Shaikh’s 17 runs topping the chart.

Before Mumbai even managed to reach 70 runs, half of the team was back in the pavilion. As the pressure mounted, the rest of the batters also crumpled quickly, unable to handle Delhi’s disciplined bowling attack.

Slow left-arm orthodox, Bharti Rawal delivered a game changing spell, taking 4 wickets for just 15 runs. She also finished as the highest wicket-taker of the tournament. Madhu was also on the top of her game scalping 3 wickets, while Ekta Bhadana and Tanisha Singh too, took one wicket each. Mumbai could not manage to bat through their full 20 overs, as they were bowled out for just 93, falling short by 17 runs.

Delhi’s all-round performance proved too strong for Mumbai and earned them a well-deserved victory at the biggest stage. With captain Tanisha Singh, proudly holding the trophy aloft, the team celebrated a monumental achievement capping off an incredible season.

While Bharati won the Player of the Match, Deeksha became the Player of the Series as she scored 276 runs in a total of 8 innings, including a century. Delhi’s title triumph is a testament to their teamwork and determination.
