The 18-year-old young prodigy Neelam Bhardwaj representing Uttarakhand in the ongoing edition of the tournament scripted her name into the history books. She became the youngest woman to score a double century at the list A level. Uttarakhand led by skipper Ekta Bisht was up against Nagaland led by skipper Limatola in the 65th match of the tournament.

Uttarakhand surmounted a humongous total of 371/2 in their quota of 50 overs after skipper Ekta Bisht won the toss and opted to bat first. The 18-year-old youngster Neelam Bhardwaj stepped in at number 3 and smashed a swashbuckling double century, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Multiple records tumbled en route to her knock (202 off 137 balls), and she single-handedly contributed for over 50% (54% to be precise) of the team’s mountainous total.

She becomes only the 2nd Indian woman to score a double century in List A cricket after Shweta Sehrawat. Her tally of runs included 27 boundaries and a couple of maximums. She has also now registered the 2nd highest Individual score in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy. Shweta Sehrawat tops the list with 242* (150 balls) earlier this year while representing Delhi.
