Players to watch out:

Tejal Hasabnis

The 27-year-old middle-order batter was a top performer for her state team last season and was rewarded with a spot in the India A team, where she went on to register scores of 53, 63, and 50 in the 50-over games. She then made her international debut, registering scores of 42 and 15 against New Zealand only recently. She is a highly promising batter and can be relied upon for the runs.

Renuka Singh Thakur

The 28-year-old pacer, from 50 T20 International (T20I) innings, has claimed 57 wickets at an average of 20.89, an economy rate of 6.33, and recorded the best of 5/15. Renuka has rediscovered her bowling rhythm and looked impressive in her recent T20 campaign, returning figures of 2/27, 1/23, 2/16, and 2/24 at the World Cup. The seasoned pacer can be relied upon to lead the wickets tally.

Soumya Tiwari

The 19-year-old top-order batter has made her mark in underage cricket and has found notable success in the senior women’s competition. Soumya accumulated 115 runs from 6 innings in the 2023 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy and 85 runs from 5 innings in the same competition this season. Though she hasn’t had a successful start to this domestic season, she should be backed to capitalize on her form.

Yamuna Rana

The off-spinner emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the 2024 Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, bagging 16 wickets, averaging 10.25, and maintaining an economy rate of 4.6 from 8 outings. Yamuna carried this momentum into the Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy opener, returning figures of 2/30 (4), and can be counted on to extend this form into the business end.

Pitch:

The JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi, offers a slow track, one that poses challenges for batters and provides an advantage to spinners. The average score in the 130s indicates the need for careful batting on this wicket.

Weather:

It will be a pleasant day for cricket in Ranchi, with no expected rain interruptions and sunny skies. The temperature will be around 24°C, with light winds and a humidity level of 56%.
