Mumbai beat Bengal by 10 Wickets to claim Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2024-25

Bengal led by skipper Saika Ishaque defeated Himachal Pradesh led by skipper Sushma Verma by 21 runs in the 2nd semi-final to book a spot in the title clash at the Wankhede Stadium. On the other hand, Mumbai led by skipper Humairaa Kaazi defeated Uttarakhand led by skipper Ekta Bisht by 31 runs in the 1st semi-final to book their spot in the final of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.

Bengal skipper Saika Ishaque won the toss and opted to bat first. Bengal were bundled out for 85 in their quota of 20 overs. The 32-run 7th wicket partnership between Titas Sadhu and Hrishita Basu was the highest partnership of the innings for Bengal. Dhara Gujjar (26 off 38 balls), Hrishita Basu (18 off 24 balls), and Titas Sadhu (17 off 11 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Bengal.

Jagravi Pawar (4-0-13-3), Soumya Singh (4-0-11-2), M Dakshini (4-0-22-0), and Fatima Jaffer (4-0-26-1) were the top performers with the ball for Mumbai.

Chasing a target of 86, the Mumbai openers Vrushali Bhagat (45* off 39 balls) and skipper Humairaa Kaazi (41* off 36 balls) powered their side over the line with 45 balls to spare, sealing a thumping 10-wicket victory.

Skipper Saika Ishaque (3-0-18-0), and Mita Paul (3-0-19-0) were the top performers with the ball for Bengal.

Skipper Humairaa Kaazi was awarded the Player of the Match for her brilliant innings of 41* off 36 balls. Apart from her impressive contributions with the bat, her remarkable leadership throughout the tournament played a crucial role in guiding Mumbai to back-to-back titles in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy. They became only the 2nd team after Railways to defend their title in the history of the competition to date.
