The White Ferns registered a landmark victory over South Africa in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final. Defending a target of 158, they restricted the Proteas to 126, clinching the match by 32 runs. The final saw standout performances from Amelia Kerr, who top-scored with 43 runs off 38 balls and took three crucial wickets for 24 runs. Her all-round brilliance earned her both the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament titles, with Kerr finishing as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, claiming 15 wickets.

As part of the post-match celebrations, Kerr led her teammates in a beautiful Māori song that amplified the team’s joy. Veteran Suzie Bates gathered the team for a huddle and delivered an inspiring speech that was met with thunderous applause. Meanwhile, Lea Tahuhu, trophy in hand, joined in with some funky dance moves, and skipper Sophie Devine led the singing of the team’s anthem, further fueling the celebrations.
