Bangladesh’s Rumana Ahmed and Nigar Sultana to feature in WBBL this year

Bangladesh women cricketers Rumana Ahmed and Nigar Sultana are all set to play in Women’s Big Bash League in Australia this year.

The two players have been selected in the ICC Women’s Global Development Squad which will play six T20s against WBBL teams between 9th – 14th October this year. The players will be then attached to the WBBL teams and the opening round matches will take place between 18th and 20th October.

Nigar will play for Melbourne Stars this season. Leg spinner Rumana Ahmed who was picked by team Brisbane Heat last year but didn’t play any matches will be joining Hobart Hurricanes this year.

The ICC Women’s Global Development Squad is a 13-member squad consisting of players from different countries like Bangladesh, Scotland, Thailand, Indonesia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Pakistan.

The squad tour will begin on October 9 with a match against a team of players from Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars and the Victoria state team.
The two other opponents for the development squad are Sydney Strikers and a team of players from Hobart Hurricanes & Tasmanian Tigers.
