Korea Cricket Association to host 4-nation Women’s East Asia Cup 2019 tournament

The 2019 tournament of the Women’s East Asia Cup will be hosted by the Korea Cricket Association (KCA) from 19 to 22 September 2019. Korea will host Women’s players from Hong Kong, Japan, and China in the 4-nation league that will be performed in the T20 structure and will convey official T20I status with positioning focuses on offer.

China Women and Hong Kong Women respectively won the previous editions in 2015 and 2017. In November 2018, Korea Women welcomed China Women at Incheon, the location for the East Asia Cup, in a 3-match T20I series.

The tournament will be played in a single-phase round-robin group format, which will be followed by the top 2 teams contesting the final on Sep 22, 2019. In the 3rd/4th post-game, the surviving nations will compete. Hong Kong Women are the top-ranked T20I squad in the competition in the 23rd place of the recent ICC Women’s T20I squad, accompanied by China Women (26th), Japan Women (29th) and Korea Women (43rd).
