Sri Lanka and Ireland stars earn a decent rise in the latest ICC Rankings Update

The Ireland Women’s team led by skipper Laura Delany hosted Sri Lanka for a white-ball series that included a two-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series. The series commenced on 11th August 2024 and concluded on 20th August 2024. The T20I series was shared between both these sides and Ireland clinched a memorable series victory (2-1) in the ODI format.

ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings

The veteran 36-year-old all-rounder from New Zealand, Suzie Bates has climbed up one spot to the 16th position (551 points). The former South African skipper Sune Luus has climbed up a couple of spots to the 28th position (477 points). The 26-year-old top-order batter from Sri Lanka, Harshitha Samarawickrama had a sensational outing with the bat in the recently concluded ODI series against Ireland. She was the leading run-scorer of the series with 172 runs to her name at a sensational average of 86 in three innings. Her tally of runs includes her maiden ODI century came in the 2nd ODI of the series.

As a result of her impressive performances, she has earned a massive rise as she climbed up 15 spots to the 29th position (475 points). Aliyah Riaz from Pakistan has climbed up one spot to the 30th position (471 points). The Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana Joty has also climbed up one spot to the 37th position (449 points). Sophia Dunkley from England has climbed up one spot to the 53rd position (364 points).

Nonkululeko Mlaba from South Africa has climbed up one spot to the 29th position (445 points). The young 22-year-old all-rounder from the Netherlands, Iris Zwilling has picked up 8 wickets in four innings and was the joint 2nd highest wicket-taker of the series alongside Annemijn van Beuge from the Netherlands in the recently concluded tri-series involving Scotland and Papua New Guinea. As a result, she has climbed up one spot to the 32nd position (420 points). Masabata Klaas from South Africa has climbed up one spot to the 33rd position (418 points).

Achini Kulasuriya from Sri Lanka has picked up 6 wickets in three innings and as a result, she has earned a significant rise as she climbed up 8 spots to the 36th position (408 points). The 24-year-old all-rounder from the Netherlands Eva Lynch scored 50 runs in four innings with the bat and picked up four wickets in four innings with the ball.
