Waheeda Akhtar, a rising star in Pakistan’s cricket, while her international career is still young, her journey began in August 2023 when she received a call-up to the national ODI squad for the series against South Africa. Waheeda eagerly awaited the opportunity to prove her talent on the international stage.
The moment arrived on September 14th, 2023, when Waheeda put on the green jersey for her WODI debut in the third ODI against South Africa. This debut was not only a personal milestone but also showed her dedication and hard work. More importantly, in her debut match itself by claiming her first ever wicket in international cricket. This early success is a promising sign of things to come for the young cricketer.
Following her WODI debut, Waheeda was once again selected for the national team, this time for the T20I series against Bangladesh in October 2023. She made her T20I debut in the third match of the series on October 29th, 2023. Although Waheeda’s international career is just beginning, her early achievements and selection for major tournaments demonstrate her potential.
