New Zealand’s Lea Tahuhu and Amy Satterthwaite welcome their 2nd Child Louie

On 27 June 2024, White Ferns bowler Lea Tahuhu and former cricketer Amy Satterthwaite announced the arrival of their newborn baby boy on social media. The couple shared the joyful news with a picture of their hands stacked together with both of their children, captioned, “And then there were 4!”

Lea Tahuhu and Amy Satterthwaite married in March 2017 and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Grace Marie Satterthwaite, in January 2020. Now, they are proud parents to a baby boy, Louie Andrew Satterthwaite. The photo they posted received an outpouring of love and congratulatory messages from fans and the cricketing community. Among those who extended their heartfelt congratulations in the comments were England’s Heather Knight, Kate Cross, and former cricketer Alex Hartley; Australia’s Megan Schutt and Jess Jonassen; South Africa’s Mignon du Preez; and Scotland’s Kathryn Bryce.

Lea Tahuhu, currently unavailable for the One Day Internationals (ODIs) series against England, is set to join the White Ferns for the T20I series starting on 6th July. The 33-year-old bowler, who made her international debut against Australia in Brisbane on June 14, 2011, has represented New Zealand in 95 ODIs and 84 T20 Internationals (T20Is), taking 112 and 81 wickets, respectively. Notably, she achieved her first five-wicket haul (5/37) against England in ODIs.

Amy Satterthwaite, a former New Zealand cricketer and top-order batter, made her international debut against Australia in Darwin on July 19, 2007. Throughout her career, she played 145 ODIs and 111 T20Is, scoring 4639 and 1784 runs, respectively. She also bowled, taking 50 wickets in ODIs and 26 wickets in T20Is. Satterthwaite holds an exceptional record of scoring four consecutive hundreds in Women’s ODIs.
