On June 24, 2024, the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) announced the initiation of a pension scheme for former women’s cricketers, following approval at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) by GCA Administrators and committee members. The pension amount will be Rs. 3,500.
The GCA, established in 1934, is the governing body for cricket in Gujarat, overseeing ten districts and a union territory.
Earlier in February, the GCA introduced a pension scheme for women cricketers in the state, which included a hike of Rs. 22,500. First-class women cricketers who retired from international cricket before 2003 will now receive Rs. 52,500.
