Alam’s illustrious cricket career has been marked by remarkable achievements both as a player and a leader. Renowned for her proficiency with both bat and ball, Alam has consistently contributed to her team’s success. With an impressive tally of 48 wickets in 52 Women’s One-Day Internationals (WODIs) and 57 wickets in 78 Women’s T20 Internationals (WT20Is), she has been a formidable presence on the field.

Despite her impressive track record, Alam’s recent absence from the national squad has motivated her to explore new avenues. In the ongoing Women’s Dhaka Premier League, Alam has been striving to catch the attention of selectors through standout performances. In just five matches, she has already clinched an impressive tally of 13 wickets, boasting an economy rate of 3.42 in the 50-over tournament.

However, Alam’s efforts to reclaim her spot in the national set-up have been met with challenges. The team management’s focus seems to be on nurturing young talents, leaving experienced players like Alam on the periphery. Undeterred by this, Alam is channeling her passion for the game into a potential coaching career.

In a conversation with reporters, Alam expressed her enthusiasm for coaching and her deep-rooted love for cricket. She revealed her decision to decline other roles offered to her, emphasizing her keen interest in coaching as a viable career path.

Participating in coaching workshops, such as the one led by Salahuddin, has provided Alam with valuable insights into the coaching aspect of the game. She acknowledged Salahuddin’s guidance during the workshop, noting his ability to empathize with the challenges faced by current players due to his extensive experience.

The workshop, attended by 12 eager students, marks just the beginning of Alam’s journey into coaching. Looking ahead, organizers plan to introduce online coaching workshops to reach a broader audience of aspiring coaches across Bangladesh and beyond. This initiative aims to foster the growth and development of coaching talent, with Alam poised to make a significant contribution to the future of cricket coaching in her country.
