Players to watch out:
Kevin Awino
The 27-year-old keeper-batter has amassed 841 runs from 64 T20I innings, at an average of 15.57, with a highest score of 95*. Kevin didn’t score many runs in her most recent campaign last month, departing with scores of 0, 3, and 3, and should be backed to find her footing, leading the scoring for her team.
Stephanie Nampiina
The 24-year-old all-rounder, in T20Is, has accumulated 649 runs from 52 outings and has struck 33 wickets from 32 innings. While Stephanie hasn’t bowled lately, she also didn’t score many runs in her recent campaign, with only a double-digit score of 33* in her previous 4 T20Is. It’s hoped she steps up with an all-round effort.
Laura Mophakedi
The 26-year-old keeper-batter has added 613 runs to her tally from 55 T20Is, including the highest score of 38*, that she got in April 2024. However, apart from her knock of 38* and a 19, Laura hasn’t scored many runs, though she has managed a few starts. She is among the best batters and will be relied upon for big runs.
Shameelah Mosweu
The 28-year-old all-rounder in T20Is has scored 483 runs from 39 outings, while picking up 32 wickets from 35 innings, with respective bests of 86* and 6/3. Shameelah’s recent outings date back to late last year when she consistently managed starts and bagged a few wickets. She can be counted on for the goods.
Pitch:
The 22 yards at Gahanga International Cricket Stadium heavily favor the pacers, and the average score at the venue is in the 80s. However, batters with strong tactical skills and good shot selection can still score runs effectively.
Weather:
With partly cloudy skies and a very low chance of rain, it should be a good day for cricket. The temperature is expected to hover around 27°C, with light winds and a humidity level of 55%.
Fantasy playing XI:
Kevin Awino, Laura Mophakedi, Stephanie Nampiina, Proscovia Alako, Shameelah Mosweu, Janet Mbabazi, Tuelo Shadrack, Immaculate Nakisuyi, Rita Musamali, Consy Aweko, Lorna Anyait
