Harmanpreet Kaur Marks 300th International Appearance for India

The Indian women’s cricket team is presently on tour in Bangladesh for a five-match T20I series. In the fourth T20I of the series, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur marked her 300th international appearance for India.

Harmanpreet Kaur made her international debut at the age of 19, during the ICC Women’s World Cup against Pakistan on March 07, 2009. Since then, she has played 130 ODIs, accumulating 3410 runs with five centuries and eighteen half-centuries, maintaining an average of 36.66. Notably, she scored an unbeaten 171 against Australia in the 2017 World Cup Semi-Final, which remains the highest score at batting position number four. Additionally, she has claimed 31 ODI wickets with a best bowling figure of 2/16. On 8th April, she first captained India against Bangladesh.

In T20Is, Harmanpreet debuted in the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 against England on June 11, 2009. Across 164 T20Is, she has accumulated 3240 runs with one century, with an average approaching 28. She has also claimed 32 T20I wickets, with the best figures of 4/23 against West Indies in the 2016 T20 World Cup. She first captained the T20I side in 2012 against Pakistan in Asia Cup final.

In Test cricket, Harmanpreet debuted during the India women’s tour of England at Wormsley on August 13, 2014. Across five Test matches, she has scored 131 runs, with a high score of 49 runs, and has claimed 11 wickets, including a 5-fer against South Africa in 2014. On 14 December 2023, she was appointed with the captaincy of the red ball format.

Leading the women in blue with a 3-0 margin in the current T20I series against Bangladesh, Harmanpreet Kaur becomes the fifth player to reach the milestone of 300-plus international games and the second Indian player to achieve this feat.
