The Pakistan Women’s team led by skipper Nida Dar is hosting the West Indies led by skipper Hayley Matthews for a limited-overs series that includes a three-match ODI series followed by a five-match T20I series. The series commenced on 18th April 2024 and will conclude on 3rd May 2024.

The home side, Pakistan suffered a humiliating whitewash (3-0) in the recently concluded three-match ODI series. There is a reasonable amount of shuffling in the selection committee owing to the poor performances in the recently concluded ODI series. The PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has been reinstated into the national women’s selection committee expanding the number of members to seven.

Only a couple of members Asmavia Iqbal and Marina Iqbal from the previous selection committee were retained. A couple of members from the men’s selection committee Abdul Razzaq, and Asad Shafiq were added into the panel. Former Pakistan Wicket-keeper batter Batool Fatima has also been included in the selection panel.

The Pakistan Women’s team are currently placed 5th in the points table in the ICC Women’s Championship (2022/23-2025) with 16 points to their name in 21 matches, including eight victories and 13 defeats. After the conclusion of their ongoing home series against the West Indies, they will tour England as their next assignment. They will play a white-ball series that includes a three-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series.

The upcoming ODI series will be a part of the ICC Women’s Championship. The top five teams, including the hosts India, will earn a direct qualification for the upcoming ICC Women’s ODI World Cup in India next year.
