In exciting news, the Philippines will be hosting Singapore for a three-match series called the Friendship Cup series from December 27th to December 29th. During the tour, Singapore will also be playing a triangular T10 series against them and the Philippines A team. The last time the two teams clashed, Singapore emerged victorious.
The tour is scheduled to begin on December 20th with a T10 game between the Philippines and Philippines A squad. It is set to conclude on December 29th with a T20I game. In total, there will be three T20I matches and three T10 matches.
Singapore recently played a T20 series against Myanmar which they lost 0-3. The top performers in that series were Piumi Gurusinghe who scored 33 runs at an average of 11 and Vinu Kumar who took 3 wickets. The Philippines on the other hand last took part in the SEA Games T20 Cricket Competition.
The series between the two sides will be special and will help in promoting women’s cricket. It is the first bilateral series between the two sides. Moreover, the T10 series scheduled with the Philippines A team will help in developing domestic talent in the country.
