Malaysia to host 4 Team Women’s T20I Quadrangular series starting 22nd August 2023

Malaysia is all set to host a Quadrangular series which will be played in the T20I format. The series will involve a total of four teams – Malaysia, Nepal, Kuwait, and Hong Kong. The series will commence on 22nd August 2023.

The host Malaysia was last involved in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup in June earlier this year. They only got an opportunity to be in the park for a couple of games and they lost both of those games, also, one of their games got washed out without a ball being bowled, as it was the story of this year’s Emerging Asia Cup.

The Kuwait women’s team last played an international game in June last year when they participated in the Women’s T20 Championship, involving Bahrain, Nepal, Bhutan, and Hong Kong. They just managed to get a solitary victory under their belt against Bhutan.

The Nepal women’s team was last involved in a five-match T20I series against Malaysia in May, earlier this year. They put up an impressive performance, as they managed to clinch the T20I series with a margin of 3-2. They bounced back strongly after having lost the first match of the tour.

The Hong Kong women’s team was last involved in the Women’s T20 East Asia Cup in China, involving China and Japan. They had an impressive tournament as a team as they managed to clinch the Women’s East Asia Cup title by beating the hosts China in a tie-breaker in the Final.
