Scotland Women’s side is set to travel to the Netherlands for a Tri-Series involving the Netherlands, Scotland, and Thailand. The series will involve 4 matches that will be played in the T20I format. The series will commence on 10th July with Scotland set to miss a few of the key members of the squad for the initial part of the series.
Katherine Fraser will take over the leadership of the side for the first couple of matches in the absence of their regular skipper Kathryn Bryce due to her domestic commitments and Abtaha Maqsood will be Fraser’s deputy.
Scotland Women’s side will be making a comeback to playing at the International level after a long gap. They last played an International game on 8th September 2022 against Ireland.
The Netherland Women’s side last participated in the ECIW Gibraltar tournament from 20th to 25th February 2023, while Thailand Women’s side is coming into this series on the back of an impressive performance in the South East Asian Games 2023, bagging yet another gold medal on 15th May 2023.
“This will be our first International series last September, and everyone is excited to be back playing International cricket once again. Netherlands and Thailand have both played a couple of series since then, so we expect this to be a very competitive series.
“The players have trained hard and are very much looking forward to getting back out on the pitch to show what they can do.” Scotland Women’s head coach Peter Ross on his side’s eagerness to get back on the field.
