In the first T20, batting first, New Zealand Women’s U19 were reduced to 85/9 in 20 overs. While Abigale Gerken starred with the bat for the visitors with 22, Hurley Gala rattled the opposition with three wickets. In reply, the hosts made light work of the run chase as they overhauled the target in just 11.3 overs, thanks to Soumya Tiwari’s 52 not out. Amie Hucker was the lone wicket-taker for the visitors.

Soumya Tiwari:

The right-handed opening batter of India Women’s U19 scored a delectable half-century in the first T20 against New Zealand Women’s U19. She muscled an unbeaten 52 off 33, including 10 boundaries. She led the run chase from the front and guided her team to a comfortable seven-wicket win.

Hurley Gala:

The right-arm speedster of India Women’s U19 wreaked havoc with the ball in the first T20 against New Zealand Women’s U19. She opened the bowling with Titas Sadhu and struck on the very first ball. She claimed 18/3 in four overs, including 19 dot balls. Besides her bowling, she can pack a punch with the bat.

Abigale Gerken:

The right-handed opening batter of New Zealand Women’s U19 top-scored for her team in the first T20 against India Women’s U19. She scored 22 off 33, including three boundaries. She fought hard and batted till the 11th over. However, wickets were falling all around her, which did not help the team’s cause.

Amie Hucker:

The right-arm pace sensation of New Zealand Women’s U19 was the only wicket-taker in the side in the first T20 against India Women’s U19. She scalped 15/2 in three overs. She bowled quick and was consistent with her lines and lengths. She has an excellent short ball in her armoury. With the bat, she scored 10 off 13.

Pitch

It will be the second match of the tournament at this venue. The wicket looks good for batting. Also, there is some assistance for the seamers and spinners alike. There is good bounce, and the ball is expected to come onto the bat nicely. The outfield is quick.
