21-Year-old leg spinner from Pakistan Tuba Hassan has created history, becoming the first Pakistani female player to Win ICC’s Women’s Player of the Month Award for May 2022.
Tuba Hassan made her international debut for Pakistan in the T20I series during Sri Lanka’s tour last month in May.
In the 3 T20Is that she played, Tuba picked 5 Wickets and also registered her career-best bowling figures of 3/8 in the 1st T20I match. Her performance was rewarded as she went on the win the Player of the Match award on her debut.
Having made her debut just the last month and having played just 3 T20I matches, Tuba was one of the 3 nominees for ICC’s Player of the Month Award alongside Pakistan’s Bismah Maroof and Jersey’s Trinity Smith.
By winning this coveted award, Tuba has become the first Pakistan player to win the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award.

Former Pakistan international and member of the voting panel Sana Mir lauded Hassan for her dream debut saying, “Tuba has shown a lot of confidence and skill to make an impact for Pakistan in her debut series. She has been working hard for some time and it is really heartwarming to see her celebrating success in her first series for Pakistan.”
