Can Australia take the World Cup 2022 Trophy Home?

The ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 has seen an excellent start to the tournament. 11 matches are done and all the 8 teams have played a minimum of 2 matches. Of the 8 teams, Pakistan and Bangladesh have failed to register a win. India, West Indies have won two and lost one. New Zealand, the hosts have lost 2 and won two matches. Defending champions England have lost both their matches. Whereas, South Africa has won both their matches in the slightest of margins. The tournament favorites in Australia have won all their 3 matches.

West Indies have been a major talk in the tournament so far as they managed to upset hosts New Zealand in the tournament opener by 3 runs and defeated the defending champions England by 7 runs. Pakistan was not competitive against India and Australia. But, they had a serious chance of beating South Africa which they lost by 6 runs. Bangladesh has punched above them in their 2 matches. Team India who come in with big hopes won against Pakistan after a miraculous partnership between Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar, got destroyed by New Zealand and decimated West Indies by 155 runs.

England, who are defending their title lost 2 close matches against Australia and West Indies. New Zealand was excellent against India and Bangladesh. But, were bundled out by the Australian bowlers and succumbed to the pressure against West Indies.

When comparing the performances of all the 8 teams, Australia stands out as the best by some margin. They look like well-oiled machines with all departments doing their respective duties. They are the only team to have won their 3 games with authority and have performed at a whole another level. With that kind of performance, the betting in Australia would be quite active and fans would be looking to make massive gains on their investment. The odds of winning are undoubtedly very high if you are placing your bets on a champion side like Australia.

The 6 time World champions have an excellent top 4 with everyone firing with the bat, 3 outstanding all-rounders performing well both with bat and ball, and 4 fabulous bowlers who are amazing in their skills.

This Australian unit goes into every match with 8 bowling options and bat until no.9 making them the most balanced side in the world cup.

Going by the numbers, the 6-time champions have performed extremely well in the world cup stage winning 73 of their 87 matches. This record shows how awesome this side can be when it comes to the world cup.

After they suffered heartbreak against team India in the 2017 WC semi-final, they have won all their 11 ODI Bilateral Series in which they clean swept(3-0) 9 of the 11 series. Coming into 2022 WC, they had won 28 of their last 30 matches showcasing their dominance against India, England, New Zealand, etc. With 3 wins already in the World Cup, Australia looks completely focused to win the World Cup for a record 7th time. Let us see whether the favorites win it once again or are there any other side that can upset the Australian women.
