Female Cricketers Congratulates Neeraj Chopra’s Historic Gold Medal Win via Twitter

On 7th August 2020, India finally received its first gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Neeraj Chopra, the star Javelin Throw athlete won the gold medal in style with his best throw being 87.58 meters. With this medal, Neeraj also claimed many “firsts” in his name. He became the first Indian to get a gold medal in Athletics as well as the first-ever athlete to win a medal in athletics.

He also became the second athlete to win a gold medal in an individual event after Abhinav Bindra. As the entire of India celebrates his win, several female cricketers took to social media to congratulate the athlete.

Star player Mithali Raj expressed her joy with a cheerful post on twitter, “Yay yay!! Can’t get over this feeling … it’s a gold. GOLD!!! Neeraj Chopra, you have been scripted in history.”

Jhulan Goswami expressed how impressed she was with Neeraj’s performance, “Congratulations Neeraj Chopra on winning the Gold in Tokyo. What a brilliant performance to bring our India’s first medal in track and field.”

Veda Krishnamurthy expressed how proud she felt, “Yesss!!! Neeraj Chopra, first ever Gold in track and field for India!!! India finishing with a bang. Big Big  congratulations!!! So so proud.”

Reema Malhotra uploaded a video of the prize ceremony thanking Neeraj for bringing that moment for the country while Shikha Pandey retweeted an “Iconic” photo of Neeraj roaring with power.

Cricketers like Neha Tanwar, Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Poonam Yadav put up posts and stories on their Instagram to congratulate Neeraj and celebrate with all of India, the gold medal that he won for the country after so long. We feel nothing but pride and admiration for Neeraj who has achieved this fantastic feat.
