“Appreciate all the messages I have received about the loss of my Amma. As you can imagine my family is lost without her. We now pray for my sister. I have tested negative & appreciate if you can respect our privacy. My thoughts & prayers go out to those going through the same,” her tweet read.

After suffering from the disease for almost a month, her sister Vatsala Shivakumar lost the long-fought battle to the virus. The past month has been very difficult for the Bengaluru cricketer, losing two family members. Veda has been a crucial member of the Indian squad for a long time and has represented the country at the world cup too.
