Jharkhand and Railways seal the finals berth by defeating Andhra Pradesh and Bengal

The senior women’s one-day tournament saw four teams fight in 2 matches to qualify for the finals.

Jharkhand took on Andhra Pradesh in the first semi-final match. Batting first, Jharkhand posted 216/7 in 50 overs, and in reply, Andhra Pradesh was all out for 189, falling short of 27 runs. The top performers of the match were Rashmi Gudia (122* runs) and Niharika Prasad (4/25 in 10 overs) from Jharkhand and P V Sudharani (57 runs) and Challa Jhansi Lakshmi (3/47 in 9 overs) from Andhra Pradesh.

11-time champions Railways locked horns with defending champions Bengal in the second semi-final match. Batting First, Bengal posted a total of 250/6 in 50 overs, and in reply, Railways surpassed the chasing figure as they stood strong at 254/4 in just 44 overs. The top performers were Deepti Sharma (113 runs) from Bengal and Punam Raut (69 runs) and M Thirushkamini (43 runs) for Railways.

Railways and Jharkhand will fight for the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy in the final match which is scheduled on 4th April 2021 at 9 AM IST.
