Post this, all the team members of the Chandigarh women’s cricket team had to undergo the COVID test and fortunately, all of them tested negative. Coach Nagesh Gupta is asymptomatic and is undergoing isolation. He is being constantly monitored by the medical team and will soon be tested again.

A UT Cricket Association official said – “We are hopeful that he will be back with the team in a week if he didn’t show any symptoms. Deepak, who was UT’s U-19 women’s team coach last season, when we qualified for the elite group, will take over the baton in the absence of Nagesh”

Even if coach Gupta recovers in a day or two, he will likely be missing the first 3 matches. In the absence of coach Gupta, assistant coach Deepak Lohatia has been given the responsibility.

A total of 37 teams, divided into 6 Elite groups, are going to compete against each other.

UT girls are all set to take over Goa in the Women’s Senior One Day Trophy at Jaipur.
