England take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the PayTM T20 series

Series Loss For Indian Female Cricket Team

Indian women’s cricket team seem to be having tough phase in Twenty format. After losing the first T20 match against England, Indians lost yet another match in Guwahati. Winning toss, England women elected to field first. English bowlers did complete justice to the decision made by their skipper Heather Knight.

Not a single batter from Indian side could play a long innings against Katherine Brunt led England bowling attack. Mithali Raj was the highest scorer with 20 off 27 balls. Smriti Mandhana seems to be under captaincy pressure and a quick comeback of Harmanpreet will be beneficial for the team. Indian team could manage to set a target of 111 only. Bowlers were expected to play their best and restrict English women.

Indian bowlers did try this time. Ekta Bisht took two major wickets of Natalie Sciver and Heather Knight. In fact England got an initial blow when Radha Yadav took the wicket of Beaumonth in the 5th over. Moreover, after that Poonam Yadav and Bisht ran through the middle order. But Danielle Wyatt won it for England.

Wyatt was there till the last ball and remained not out on 64 off 55 balls. She practically scored from one end and saw another end losing wickets at regular intervals. The second highest run scorer for England was Winfield.

With only one match of the series left for the 9th of this month, Indian women lost yet another Twenty20 series.
