The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the senior women’s one-day competition will begin on the 11th of March. Six venues have been decided for the same – Chennai, Bengaluru, Indore, Jaipur, Surat, and Rajkot.
Keeping the pandemic in mind, players will have to enter the bio bubble and undergo quarantine for a period of 6 days, which is why all the teams are required to reach their respective centers by the 4th of March. The pre-quarterfinals are on the 27th of March and the four knockouts will be played on the 29th and 30th of March. The semi-finals will be played on the 1st of April with the tournament set to conclude on the 4th of April when the finals will be played. The venue for the knockouts is still to be confirmed. A total of 37 teams have been divided into 6 elite batches and a plate group.
“All the teams are required to assemble in their respective host cities on March 4 and they will be required to undergo Covid-19 testing procedures and quarantine in accordance with the state regulatory authorities and the BCCI SOPs,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah wrote in a letter to all the affiliated units of the BCCI.
