Pratika Rawal made her international debut for India ahead of the first ODI against West Indies at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara as India were put into bat first in the opening ODI.
Rawal’s international debut comes as a well-deserved reward for her remarkable performances in domestic cricket, known for her consistency and ability to anchor innings.
Rawal showcased her immense talent in the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy, where she aggregated 158 runs in five innings this year, including a sensational century for RSPB. Her List A career statistics showcase her proficiency having amassed over 1300 runs in 34 innings, featuring eight fifties and four centuries.
Rawal had a phenomenal outing in the Senior Women’s T20, representing Railways, amassing 170 runs in seven innings, including two fifties. These contributions played a pivotal role in her earning an international call-up. Continuing her stellar form, she impressed in the Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy by scoring 142 runs in four matches, which included two half-centuries.
Rawal played a crucial role in Delhi’s success during the Under-23 One-Day Trophy, accumulating 411 runs in just seven innings. Her performances at the youth level laid the foundation for her domestic and now international career.
Rawal’s growing reputation was further acknowledged when she was picked by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction earlier this month ahead of the third edition.
