The Windies duo of Shemaine Campbelle and Deandra Dottin were in the spotlight for their jaw-dropping catches in the second T20I against India.
India was put into bat first and was looking to gain momentum during the slog overs before the two West Indies fielders – Shemaine Campbelle and Deandra Dottin – produced magic moments in the field with incredible catches.
The first of those moments came in the 19th over when keeper-batter Shemaine Campbelle pulled off a one-hand stunner. In the nineteenth over, Ghosh tried to dig out a sizzling yorker bowled by Dottin, just outside off, but managed only a thick edge. The ball seemed destined for a boundary with the pace in it but Campbelle stretched out her gloves towards the right with an astonishing one-handed catch that left the fans stunned.
Ghosh, looking to accelerate India’s score, was forced to walk off the ground in the death overs but it was a moment created by Campbelle’s sharp reflexes.
Later on, it was Deandra Dottin who followed the footsteps of Campbelle but this time in the outfield. On the very first ball of the final over of the innings, Radha Yadav played a lofted shot toward long on aiming to clear the fence. However, Dottin, who was standing at long-on, covered a significant part of the ground towards her right and then dived through the air.
With both hands out she grabbed the ball cleanly, leaving the spectators in awe of her outstanding catch. Dottin’s catch was the display of her athleticism and composure and had earlier saved runs at the boundary ropes.
The Windies had earlier dropped three catches but later on, showcased the turnaround in their fielding.
India ended the innings with 159 runs on the board with the Windies requiring 160 to win the game and level the three-match series.
