Players to watch out:

Melie Kerr

The 23-year-old all-rounder has amassed 599 runs and picked up 54 wickets from 48 WBBL outings. Melie linked up with the Heat only a couple of games before and has made an immediate impact. In her first outing this season, she notched up a 59 and went on to produce figures of 2/16. In the following game, while she didn’t deliver with the ball (0/43), she compensated with the bat, scoring a 33-ball 41.

Jess Jonassen

The 31-year-old all-rounder has scored 1940 runs from 110 outings and struck 148 wickets in 126 bowling innings. Jess has put her poor form behind her and with timely all-round contributions, she is looking close to her best. She has picked up 10 wickets from 7 games, finishing wicketless in only one outing, while with the bat, she has chipped in with scores of 13, 27, 22, and 15*.

Nat Sciver-Brunt

The 31-year-old all-rounder has scored 2230 runs and bagged 81 wickets from 111 Twenty20 Internationals. In the WBBL, she has accumulated 1257 runs from 65 innings and picked up 55 wickets from 56 bowling outings. Nat joined the Scorchers in their most recent outing and kicked off her campaign with a score of 53.

Amy Edgar

The 25-year-old all-rounder has accumulated 174 runs from 13 WBBL outings and claimed 15 wickets in 12 bowling innings. Amy has had a notable season this year, excelling with the ball, while not performing as well with the bat. Her bowling figures from her 3 recent outings read 4/19, 1/28, and 1/31, and it shouldn’t be surprising if she gains confidence from her bowling form and stages a comeback with the bat.

Pitch:

The 22 yards at the venue make a well-balanced center wicket, providing a fair contest between bat and ball. The wicket assists both spinners and pacers effectively, while batters too enjoy their time in the middle with an average score in the 120s.

Weather:

With light winds, humidity at 50%, and the temperature forecasted to hover around 21°C, the conditions promise a complete game of cricket. The overhead is expected to be clear and the chances of rain are minimal.
