Players to watch

Hayley Jensen: 

The right-arm speedster from New Zealand was one of the most successful bowlers for Hobart Hurricanes in her last outing against Sydney Thunder. She opened the bowling and scalped 13/2 in four overs. Bowling as many as 16 dot balls, she was the most economical bowler for her side.

Lizelle Lee: 

The right-handed opening batter and wicket-keeper of Hobart Hurricanes starred with the bat in her last appearance against Sydney Thunder. The attacking batter from South Africa smashed 41 off 29, including five hits to the fence and one over it. She bagged the player of the match award for her scintillating batting display.

Sophie Ecclestone:

The wily left-arm spinner of Sydney Sixers was the pick of the bowlers in her last fixture against Adelaide Strikers, claiming 15/2 in four overs. The English bowler opened the bowling and struck in her second over. Apart from being the most successful bowler, she was the most economical one. With the bat, she scored an unbeaten 17 off 14, including a couple of boundaries.

Erin Burns:

The right-handed middle-order batter of Sydney Sixers led the run chase from the front against Adelaide Strikers in her last encounter. She blasted 71 off 38, smashing seven boundaries and three sixes. Her valiant effort went in vain as her team fell shy of just three runs, chasing 143.

Pitch

It will be the tournament’s first match at the venue. Expect a hard surface that will offer plenty of runs. An expected shower in the morning and cloudy conditions could assist the fast bowlers. Toss will be critical. Captain winning the toss may look to field first.
