Laura Wolvaardt to play for Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Renegades signs Ellie Falconer for WBBL07

The Adelaide strikes and Melbourne Renegades have signed some big names ahead of this year’s WBBL.

Laura Wolvaardt on coming back to the Striker’s camp – “I’m so excited to be returning to the Strikers. I loved every second of the Big Bash last year. The tournament is fantastic to be a part of and I couldn’t have asked for a better team. It’s such a great group of girls and I felt like I learned so much from the coaches last season. I can’t wait to start!”

Sarah Coyte has signed for a fifth season with the Strikers this year! A medium pacer and a handy lower-order batter, Sarah has taken the joint highest wickets in a season – eighteen.

Sarah on her excitement about this season – “I am so pumped for the season; Striker time is my favorite time of year. We have such a great group and I have been looking forward to this all year. I can’t wait to see our fans again in person and celebrate another awesome WBBL season.”

Meanwhile, the Melbourne Renegades have got Ellie Falconer to sign a three-year deal with them. The fast bowler finished as the leading wicket-taker of the Statewide Super First Grade competition picking up 17 wickets for West Torrens.

Coyte on her contract with the Melbourne Renegades – “I’m looking forward to this season and being a Renegade. It’s been nice to have a full pre-season of training after missing a season of cricket. I see myself as an attacking bowler and I’ve been working on my pace, hitting the deck hard and trying to get a bit of bounce. I haven’t played a WBBL game yet, so that’s the first goal for me.”
