1st Innings Summary – Put into bat first, Smriti Mandhana and Erin Fazackerley opened for Hobart Hurricanes. Both of them adopted aggressive approach, as a result of which, 56 runs were made in the first six overs of compulsory batting powerplay. Although, both the openers went back to pavilion by the end of 8th over, the run-rate was maintained till 16th over with all the upper order batters contributing valuable runs. Stafanie Taylor’s 17th over changed the scenario as, first, she caught and bowled Georgia Redmayne and then got set-batter Heather Knight caught out by Rachael Haynes in a space of five balls. Eventually, only 19 runs were made in the last three overs. 

2nd Innings Summary – Sydney Thunder lost an early wicket as opener Rachael Haynes was caught out on the last ball of first over. But following that, Rachael Priest and Naomi Stalenberg did a 74-run quick partnership before the former became victim of Heather Knight. Harmanpreet Kaur could not stay long but was able to maintain 100+ strike rate as she struck two 4s in her short innings of 13 runs. Captain Alex Blackwell and Stafanie Taylor did the winning partnership as Sydney Thunder reached at the top spot in the points table with this win.
