The Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League (WUPL) 2025 final between Haridwar Storm Women and Tehri Queens Women was held on September 26, 2025, at the iconic Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun.

The highly anticipated match drew cricket fans eager to witness the culmination of a thrilling tournament. After winning the toss, Tehri Queens opted to field first, putting the pressure on Haridwar Storm to set a competitive target.
The Haridwar Storm innings began on a positive note with openers Jyoti Giri and Dipika Chand providing a solid foundation. Jyoti Giri was the backbone of the innings, compiling a resilient 41 runs and effectively handling the pressure of the final. Dipika Chand offered steady support, contributing 11 runs to the opening partnership. Together, they forged a useful stand of 49 runs, which briefly seemed to put Haridwar in control.
However, the momentum shifted when the first wicket fell just after the 49-run stand. Sweta Verma, Haridwar’s captain and a key player, came to the crease with the responsibility to take her team forward. She contributed a gritty 20 runs, but her stay was cut short by an unfortunate run out, walking back with 81 on the board. This dismissal proved pivotal as it triggered a collapse.
The subsequent period was disastrous for Haridwar Storm, as wickets fell rapidly. Consistent bowling from the Tehri Queens attack dismantled the batting lineup. The innings ended at 99 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, a total many felt was below par for a final. The tight bowling spells and excellent fielding by the Queens made it difficult for Haridwar batters to settle or build partnerships after the captain’s dismissal.
The bowling performance for Tehri Queens was outstanding. Nisha Mishra (3/11) and Sabhya (3/13) both emerged as game changers, taking three important wickets each. Neelam Bhardwaj also made a significant impact, capturing two crucial wickets that stifled Haridwar’s momentum. This trio’s combined effort was clearly the key to restricting Haridwar’s total.
After the innings break, Tehri Queens began their chase under pressure but with confidence. Opening the batting, Mega Saini and Aarti Bhandari took the crease looking to give their team a strong start. The pair looked comfortable initially and scored steadily. Unfortunately, Aarti’s innings was cut short due to a run out when she was on just 7, a setback for the Queens.
Despite this early loss, opener Mega Saini took charge with a commanding performance. She played a composed yet aggressive innings, smashing 67* runs off 47 balls. Her stroke play was a blend of patience and power. Support from the middle order helped maintain the chase’s momentum.
The disciplined bowling effort from Kalpana Verma and Ankita Shah, who took a 1 wicket each, was not enough to stop the Queens. Ultimately, they reached their target comfortably in just 11.5 overs, with Mega Saini remaining unbeaten, celebrating a well-earned win.
The final margin was a comprehensive 7 wickets, marking Tehri Queens’ dominant performance throughout the season, an unbeaten run to the trophy. Their effective bowling and solid batting under pressure earned them the championship title of the Uttarakhand Premier League Women’s tournament.
