Nanital SG Pipers led by skipper Ekta Bisht were up against Mussoorie Thunders led by skipper Mansi Joshi in the final of the inaugural edition of the Uttarakhand Women’s Premier League.

Mussoorie Thunders led by skipper Mansi Joshi won the toss and elected to field first. After being inserted to bat first, Nanital SG Pipers openers Manisha Pradhan and Megha Saini got their side off to a cautious start with a 23-run opening partnership. Manisha Pradhan was found short of her crease to provide the first breakthrough for Mussoorie Thunders. Megha Saini soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 2nd breakthrough for Mussoorie Thunders.

Deepika Chand joined Kanchan Parihar at the crease and the duo stitched an 18-run partnership for the 3rd wicket to take their side past the 50-run mark. Reena Jindal picked up the wicket of Deepika Chand to provide the 3rd breakthrough for her side. Nanital SG Pipers lost a couple of wickets in quick succession to bring Mussoorie Thunders firmly back into the contest.

Wicket-keeper batter Shweta Verma joined Kanak Tapraniya at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 43-run partnership for the 6th wicket to take their side past the 100-run mark. Nanital SG Pipers lost a couple of wickets on successive deliveries. Nanital SG Pipers ended up with a total of 118/8 in their quota of overs. Kanak Tapraniya (29 off 15 balls), Kanchan Parihar (20 off 21 balls), Megha Saini (15 off 25 balls), wicket-keeper batter Sweta Verma (13 off 16 balls), and Manisha Pradhan (13 off 17 balls), were the top performers with the bat for Nanital SG Pipers.

Rudra Sharma (4-0-20-3), Sakshi Joshi (4-0-19-1), Prema Rawat (4-0-26-1), and Reena Jindal (2-0-11-1) were the top performers with the ball for Mussoorie Thunders. Chasing a target of 119, Mussoorie Thunders got off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of their opening batter Shagun Chaudhary in the 2nd over of the run chase. Vaishali Tulera provided the first breakthrough for Nanital SG Pipers. Wicket-keeper batter Nandini Kashyap joined Anjali Goswami at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 57-run partnership for the 2nd wicket to take their side past the 50-run mark.

Gunjan Bhandari picked up the wicket of wicket-keeper batter Nandini Kashyap to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side. Mussoorie Thunders lost a couple of wickets in quick succession. Prema Rawat joined Reena Jindal at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 38-run partnership for the 5th wicket to take their side past the 100-run mark. Amisha Bahukhandi picked up the wicket of Reena Jindal to provide the 5th breakthrough for Nanital SG Pipers.

Mussoorie Thunders eventually got over the line with three wickets in hand and three balls to spare. Prema Rawat (32 off 26 balls), wicket-keeper batter Nandini Kashyap (28 off 23 balls), and Anjali Goswami (25 off 32 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Mussoorie Thunders. Gunjan Bhandari (4-1-18-3), Amisha Bahukhandi (4-0-17-2), skipper Ekta Bisht (4-0-13-0), and Vaishali Tulera (4-1-25-1) were the top performers with the ball for Nanital SG Pipers.

Prema Rawat was awarded the Player of the Match for her brilliant all-round performance. She returned with match figures (4-0-26-1), with the ball, and scored an unbeaten (32* off 26 balls) with the bat. She played a crucial role in helping her side clinch a comfortable victory to be crowned as the inaugural champions of the Uttarakhand Women’s Premier League.
