Shabnam MD
The 15-year-old right-arm pacer from Andhra Pradesh is possibly India’s most promising bowler. She is tall, has a great run-up, a high arm action, and generates a lot of speed for her age. She took three wickets in three games against New Zealand and four wickets in two games against South Africa before being rested for the warmup game against Australia. Shabnam is accurate with the fresh ball right away and nips it both ways. She will surely be a player to watch at the World Cup, and who knows, maybe even in the much-anticipated maiden season of the Women’s IPL.
