The Super Six, Group 1 match of the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup will be played between Australia and UAE on January 23 at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The game will begin at 5.15 PM IST (1.45 PM LOCAL).

While Australia will be playing their second and last match in the Super Six stage, UAE will be featuring in their first, with a game against Bangladesh to go next on January 25.

Australia won their first Super Six fixture against India by seven wickets, as they successfully chased 88 in 13.5 overs.

The right-handed middle-order batter of Australia Women’s U19 led the run chase from the front in the last fixture against India Women’s U19. She scored an undefeated 26 off 25, hitting one boundary and a six. She put together 51 runs for the fourth wicket with Claire Moore.

The right-arm speedster of Australia Women’s U19 won the player of the match award in her last outing against India Women’s U19. She opened the bowling with Lucy Hamilton and scalped 12/2 in two overs, striking in the second and fourth overs of the innings. With early breakthroughs, she gave the perfect start to her team with the ball.

Lavanya Keny:

The wily right-arm off-spinner of UAE Women’s U19 was one of the most successful bowlers for her side in her last appearance against South Africa Women’s U19. She accounted for 10/2 in four overs and was the most economical bowler. She also opened the batting and scored 11 off 17.

The all-rounder of UAE Women’s U19 top-scored with the bat, batting at number three, in her last outing against South Africa Women’s U19. The right-hander mustered 13 off 18, finding the fence twice. She also bowled a couple of overs of right-arm medium-pace and conceded 18 runs.

Pitch

It will be the 10th game of the competition at this venue. Out of the nine matches played here till January 22, the teams batting first have won four, and the teams batting second have won five. The average first innings score is 97, and the average second innings score is 73. Expect the wicket to be on the slower side. Scoring runs could be challenging. Spinners will play a key role.
