The warm-up matches of the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup got underway and we got to witness some interesting contests. Here’s a quick rundown of what transpired!

Match 1- Scotland U19 Women vs United States of America U19 Women

In the first warm-up match of the ICC Women’s U19 World Cup that featured Scotland and the United States of America, the USA won the toss and opted to bowl first. Scotland posted a commendable 135/5 in their 20 overs quota and they defended it handing the USA a 45 runs defeat.

Match 2- India U19 Women vs Australia U19 Women

In the second warm-up match, India took on Australia. Batting first, India made a paltry 97/8 but what was spectacular was how India defended the total and skittled Australia for 79/7, registering a convincing win by 18 runs.

Match 3- Ireland U19 Women vs Pakistan U19 Women

In the third warm-up match, we had Ireland take on Pakistan. Pakistan had a clinical display restricting Ireland to 89/6 in 20 overs and chased down the total with ease winning the match by 7 wickets.

Match 4- Indonesia U19 Women vs Zimbabwe U19 Women

In the fourth warm-up match, Indonesia took on Zimbabwe and Indonesia ended up on the winning side.

Match 5- New Zealand U19 Women vs Rwanda U19 Women

In the fifth warm-up match, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first. They posted an impressive 154/5 from their 20 overs quota. No update as yet on the winner.

Match 6- West Indies U19 Women vs England U19 Women

In the sixth warm-up match, West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first against England. They were unable to post a good total and ended up with 65/8. England chased down the total with ease in 11 overs losing just one wicket.

Match 7- South Africa U19 Women vs Bangladesh U19 Women

In the seventh warm-up match, with South Africa batting first, they posted a dismal 98/9. No update as yet on the winner.

Match 8- Sri Lanka U19 Women vs UAE U19 Women

In the 8th warm-up match featuring Sri Lanka and UAE, batting first Sri Lanka posted 90/9 in their 20 overs quota and UAE was dismissed for a disappointing 38 that handed Sri Lanka a commendable 52 runs win!

It has been quite lackadaisical from the ICC as they have not reported on the matches that happened today on their website which made procuring scores and additional information extremely difficult and with the matches not being telecasted, the fans were certainly deprived of live-action.
