Key Takeaways:
-
They will be led by Vishmi Gunaratne, a right-handed batter who excelled in school and club cricket at home, made her senior women’s international debut last year and has since displayed a lot of promise. She is the only member of Sri Lanka’s U19 team with experience playing on a senior women’s team.
-
The Sri Lanka U19 team, which participated in a quadrangular T20 series in Visakhapatnam late last year, was also captained by Vishmi.
-
Coached by the former Sri Lankan women’s cricketer, Shashikala Siriwardene who has the pedigree to lead the team in an effective manner, a lot is expected.
