India faced Bangladesh in the group-stage match of the Super Four in the Under-19 Women’s Asia Cup. Electing to field first, India’s bowling attack was ruthless with a dominant display of the bowling, but Trisha got into the spotlight with her stunning catch in the final over of the Bangladesh innings.
The left-arm spinner Mithila Vinod was bowling the 20th over. Her first delivery was a wide one drifting toward the sixth or seventh stump to which Nishita Akhter Nishi played a lofted shot over mid-off which was stationed inside the circle. The shot lacked power and elevation causing the ball to hang in the air. Trisha seized the opportunity to sprint back from her position and covered a significant part of the ground with eyes on the ball, completing an incredible catch. Trisha displayed her athleticism as it was an eye-catching grab.
At the end of the innings, Bangladesh could only put up 80 runs on the board. Trisha was again in the action in the 2nd innings, this time with the bat, the opening batter scored an unbeaten 58 off 46 balls, including 10 boundaries, to guide India to an eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh.
