In the forthcoming match no. 10 of the ongoing 2024 Women’s Twenty20 (T20) Blaze, at Warner Park, Basseterre, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago are slated to go up against each other on the 23rd of March, 2024, at 7:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).
Squads:
Jamaica – Stafanie Taylor (C), Rashada Williams, Natasha McLean, Vanessa Watts, Keneshia Ferron, Neisha-Ann Waisome, Chedean Nation, Kate Wilmott, Nicole Campbell, Chinelle Henry, Celina Whyte, Abigail Bryce, Jaunel Deers, Jessica Garcia
Trinidad & Tobago – Britney Cooper (C), Steffie Soogrim, Karishma Ramharack, Djenaba Joseph, Kirbyina Alexander, Shunelle Sawh, Samara Ramnath, Selene Oneil, Shalini Samaroo, LeeAnn Kirby, KD Jazz Mitchell, Caneisha Isaac, Shanice Pascall, Brianna Harricharan
Players to watch out:
Natasha McLean
The 29-year-old batter managed a couple of good scores in the recently concluded Super50 Cup. Continuing her form, Natasha kicked off her campaign registering a score of 19(15), but she departed for a 3-ball duck in the following game. In her most recent outing, she departed for 13(13), and it’ll be hoped she converts these starts, leading the tally.
Chinelle Henry
The 28-year-old all-rounder was in notable form with both bat and ball in the Super50 Cup and has replicated the success in the T20 Blaze. Chinelle hasn’t been required much with the bat, registering scores of 13*(10), 7*(12), and 7*(4), while with the ball, she has returned figures of 0/11 (3), 2/22 (4), and 4/9 (3.3). She’ll be banked upon for the goods.
Djenaba Joseph
The 19-year-old top-order batter is a highly promising up-and-coming talent, and though she wasn’t at her best in the Super50 Cup, she has managed to leave a mark in the T20 Blaze. Djenaba departed for a 6-ball duck in the T20 opener; however, she followed up with scores of 22*(28) and 43(43). It’ll be hoped she makes the most of this return to form.
Caneisha Isaac
The 30-year-old pacer signed off her Super50 Cup campaign registering figures of 3/33 on the back of wicketless yet economical outings. Caneisha has carried forward the momentum into the Blaze, registering figures of 1/17 (3) and 1/9 (4). It’ll be expected of the seasoned pacer that she extends this form till the business end of the tournament.
Pitch:
The Warner Park wicket offers a balanced playing surface that slightly favors the bowlers. While it is good for batting, the average score of 120 suggests the assistance that bowlers, particularly spinners, can expect from the pitch.
Weather:
With moderate winds, humidity at 70%, and the temperature forecasted to hover around 29°C, the conditions are pleasant for cricket. The skies are expected to be partly cloudy and the chances of rain are minimal during match hours.
Fantasy playing XI:
Rashada Williams, Shunelle Sawh, Chedean Nation, Djenaba Joseph, Britney Cooper, Stafanie Taylor, Shalini Samaroo, Chinelle Henry, Karishma Ramharack, Vanessa Watts, Samara Ramnath
