Theertha Satish’s unbeaten half-century powers the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to a thumping 9-wicket victory against Zimbabwe.

The United Arab Emirates led by skipper Esha Oza defeated Namibia led by skipper Sune Wittmann by four wickets in the 7th match of the Tri-series at the Wanderers Cricket Ground, Windhoek. Skipper Esha Oza was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational all-round performance, returning with match figures (3-0-19-2), with the ball and scoring (21 off 30 balls) with the bat.

Zimbabwe led by skipper Chiedza Dhururu was all set to face the United Arab Emirates in the 8th match of the Tri-series at the Wanderers Cricket Ground, Windhoek. The UAE skipper Esha Oza won the toss and opted to field first. After being inserted to bat first, the Zimbabwe openers Beloved Biza and Kelis Ndhlovu got their side off to a solid start with a 62-run opening partnership.

Kelis Ndhlovu was found short of her crease to provide the first breakthrough for the United Arab Emirates. Beloved Biza soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 2nd breakthrough for UAE. Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano joined wicket-keeper batter Modester Mupachikwa at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 18-run partnership for the 3rd wicket to take their side close to the 100-run mark. Samaira Dharnidharka picked up the wicket of the wicket-keeper batter Modester Mupachikwa to provide the 3rd breakthrough for her side.

Skipper Chiedza Dhururu joined Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano at the crease and the duo stitched a 13-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take their side past the 100-run mark. Samaira Dharnidharka returned and picked up the big wicket of the opposition skipper Chiedza Dhururu to provide the 4th breakthrough for the UAE. Loryn Phiri soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 5th breakthrough for UAE.

Josephine Nkomo joined Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 19-run partnership for the 6th wicket to take their side past the 130-run mark. Indhuja Nandakumar picked up the wicket of Josephine Nkomo to provide the 6th breakthrough for her side. Zimbabwe ended up with a total of 128/7 in their quota of overs. Beloved Biza (36 off 31 balls), Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano (32 off 26 balls), and Kelis Ndhlovu (32 off 36 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Zimbabwe.

Samaira Dharnidharka (4-0-25-2), skipper Esha Oza (4-0-18-1), Indhuja Nandakumar (4-0-29-1), and Vaishnave Mahesh (1-0-9-1) were the top performers with the ball for the United Arab Emirates. Chasing a target of 129, the UAE openers, wicket-keeper batter Theertha Satish, and skipper Esha Oza got their side off to a solid start with a 49-run opening partnership, scoring at a rate of 7 runs an over.

Kelis Ndhlovu picked up the big wicket of the opposition skipper Esha Oza to provide the first breakthrough for Zimbabwe. Kavisha Egodage joined the wicket-keeper batter Theertha Satish at the crease and the duo took their side over the line with an unbeaten 81-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. The UAE got over the line with 9 wickets in hand and 22 balls to spare.

Wicket-keeper batter Theertha Satish (81* off 54 balls), Kavisha Egodage (26 off 24 balls), and skipper Esha Oza (17 off 21 balls) were the top performers with the bat for the United Arab Emirates. Kelis Ndhlovu (4-0-30-1), Chipo Moyo (3.2-0-21-0), and Loryn Phiri (3-0-22-0) were the top performers with the ball for Zimbabwe.

Wicket-keeper batter Theertha Satish was awarded the Player of the Match for her brilliant unbeaten half-century (81* off 54 balls) with the bat. She also held on to a couple of catches with the gloves in hand, playing an instrumental role in helping her side get over the line.
