The Sixers didn’t have the best of stars, losing early wickets and failed to recover as they ultimately were bowled out for 127. There were some positive moments for the Sixers, particularly in the middle order, with Maitlan Brown and Caoimhe Bray scoring 18 and 23 respectively.

The Scorchers’ bowlers maintained steady pressure and didn’t allow the Sixers to really get going. However, tailenders Courtney Sippel (22) and Frankie Nicklin (16*) helped them to a respectable total, also the 15 extras.

Lilly Mills with 3/24 led a disciplined Perth Scorchers attack and Ruby Strange chipped in with a couple of wickets. Chloe Ainsworth, Shay Manolini, Amy Edgar, and Ebony Hoskin, all had a wicket each to their name.

Chasing a target of 128, the Scorchers recovered from an early collapse 3/25 to secure the win. Their innings revolved around Maddy Darke, the standout performer for the Scorchers, who played a brilliant innings of 75 not out off just 48 balls, hitting ten boundaries.

Her strike rate of 156.25 showcased her ability to manage the innings, soaking up pressure and then accelerating the scoring when it really mattered. The only other notable contribution came from Mikayla Hinkley (19).

On the bowling front, Maitlan Brown was a bright spot for the Sixers, picking up three wickets and making things tough for the batters. However, the Scorchers showed good discipline in their batting, responding effectively at critical moments, which meant the Sixers couldn’t maintain sustained pressure during the chase.
